ArtWorks Film Club

ArtWorks Film Club is a new community film club showcasing experimental, poetic and art cinema, with a focus on auteurs and the filmmaker as artist.

We will be screening classics as well as contemporary work, followed by audience discussions and Q&As with filmmakers, with the aim of creating a conversation about the possibilities of film as an art form.

The First Film Screening: 'Song's of Blood and Destiny' perfectly compliments the upcoming show 'Distant Voices' and will be presented alongside the exhibition. 

Based on the epic poem, iGirl, by Irish playwright Marina Carr. A writer throws a cold eye, with Beckettian, humour and honesty, on her life and work, and that of homo sapiens' as a species, and in light of our likely future extinction.

Trish McAdam’s visionary film fuses animation and visual art in a study of the human face and lost voices echoing through history.

Monthly screenings will be presented by in-house filmmaker and curator Tommy Creagh.
